Regenerative Travel, Tracked: Introducing The QT Passport
Redefining travel is no easy feat, but it’s a challenge we’re taking on at Quantum Temple. We’re on a mission to regenerate the world through the power of travel. Our aim is to mobilize $100 for cultural, environmental and tourism regeneration by 2030, while cultivating the largest community of regenerative travelers who are connected with time-honored, living cultures.
The QT Passport is at the center of how we’re going about this. This is the regenerative traveler’s roadmap, designed to accompany people on their net-positive journeys. Regenerative travel is the evolution from sustainable travel, which goes beyond offsetting to positively impact places long after visiting.
What is the QT Passport and why should you get one?
A gate to regenerative travel, the QT Passport allows travelers, institutions and corporations to make a direct impact on cultural, environmental and tourism regeneration. QT Passport holders are able to tangibly and transparently track the development of community-led projects and see how their funds have been put to good use. Our projects include the restoration of heritage areas, transmission of cultural practices, development of community-based tourism and youth empowerment.
“Quantum Temple invites travelers that want to meaningfully connect with local communities who are protecting their lands, people and cultures,” says Linda Adami, CEO of Quantum Temple. “We aim to collectively redefine travel and create a legacy that leaves places better than we found them.”
Travelers also have the opportunity to deepen their commitment to net-positive travel through signing the Regenerative Traveler’s Pledge, within the QT Passport. Although it is not mandatory to sign the pledge to claim your QT Passport, it’s a statement that cements your regenerative intentions.
What is the Regenerative Traveler’s Pledge?
This digital document holds people accountable for their actions, and encourages people to act with intentionality and think about where they spend their money, time and energy while traveling. People acknowledge seven foundational principles when they pledge. These are:
- Act with respect
- Vote with my wallet
- Educate myself
- Experience local culture
- Act intentionally
- Hold myself accountable
- Create a net-positive impact
So what is so significant about the pledge? “It is an important intention-setting reminder of the guiding principles of regenerative travel,” says Adami. “I consult it before and after I travel to destinations to check-in with myself and bring more intentionality and purpose to my visit.”
What benefits does the QT Passport unlock?
The QT Passport also unlocks multiple utilities. These benefits include first-dibs on curated regenerative travel experiences and cultural and travel content, and the opportunity to earn rewards for engaging with cultural experiences, and physical and digital artifacts.
Joining a community of like-minded individuals is also central to the QT Passport. Through the QT Passport, travelers will connect to a community of regenerative travelers through online and offline events.
