OBJECTIVE

This project focuses on supporting the running and growth of a children’s club for gamelan, a traditional Indonesian orchestra with heritage that stretches back centuries. The project takes place at an existing club in Bali, a birthplace of gamelan along with Java. The Makaradhwaja Kumara Children Gamelan Club was founded by Suasthi Bandem and Made Bandem in April 2023 with the aim of engaging and educating the younger generation in gamelan. Aged between six and 13, members of the club will foster a lifelong connection with gamelan and find a sense of responsibility to protect and pass on their cultural heritage. Quantum Temple aims to identify key funding areas, and support a comprehensive gamelan education.
